Accessibility

NobNob is meant to be usable at a kitchen table, on a cracked phone screen, and by people who read with a screen reader or navigate entirely by keyboard. We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, and we treat any gap between that goal and what this site actually does as a bug worth fixing.

What we have done

• Colour contrast. Every text and background pairing on this site has been measured rather than eyeballed. Body text, small labels, and captions clear 4.5:1; large headings clear 3:1. Our display pink and blue have darker text-safe counterparts that we use wherever those colours carry words instead of decoration.
• Keyboard access. Every link, button, form field, and accordion can be reached and operated with a keyboard alone. A visible focus ring follows you, a “Skip to content” link is the first stop on the page, the mobile menu closes on Esc and returns focus to the button that opened it, and the daily sample opens in a native dialog that traps focus and gives it back on close.
• Motion. If your device asks for reduced motion, the scrolling ticker stops, section transitions are removed, and smooth scrolling is turned off. Nothing on this site flashes or auto-plays.
• Structure and text alternatives. Headings run in order, landmarks are labelled, every meaningful image carries a description, and purely decorative marks are hidden from assistive technology so they are not read aloud as noise.
• Without JavaScript. All of the page’s content is present and readable if scripts fail to load. Animation is an enhancement layered on top, never a condition of seeing the words.
• Zoom and reflow. The layout reflows to a single column and stays usable at 200% zoom and at a 320 pixel viewport width, without horizontal scrolling.

Known limits

This is a launch page maintained by a very small team, and we would rather name our gaps than imply there are none. The scrolling headline ticker is decorative and hidden from screen readers, but it does move by default for anyone who has not requested reduced motion. Our product photography is described in alt text at a summary level rather than in full detail. We have not yet had this site audited by an independent accessibility practitioner.

If any part of NobNob is difficult or impossible for you to use, we want to hear about it — a short note describing the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser or assistive technology you were using is enormously helpful. Accessibility reports go to the front of our queue, ahead of new features.
