Reflection

Courage does not mean living without fear. Very often it means moving forward even when your heart feels unsure. God does not expect emotional perfection. He wants to walk with you while you learn to trust and to go ahead one step at a time. Even the bravest people need support, faith and inner strength.

Martin Luther King Jr. spoke many times in front of huge crowds to defend equality and justice.

Although many people today remember his courage, there were moments when he felt afraid too. He received threats, faced criticism and lived through very hard situations while he fought for what he believed was right.

Even so, he understood something important: being brave does not mean never feeling fear.

Very often, courage shows up exactly when someone decides to keep going in spite of the fear.

All of us will face situations that scare us: speaking in front of other people, facing changes, trying something new or making hard decisions. That does not mean we are weak. Fear does not always leave first.

Sometimes courage is taking one step at a time, trusting that God is still right beside us.

With God's help, we can also learn to face hard situations with faith, hope and inner strength.
