Reflection
We often try to solve everything on our own and end up worn out inside. God does not expect you to carry every worry without help. He wants to teach you to rest, to ask for support and to trust that you do not have to hold everything up by yourself in order to live in peace and safety. Martha was busy with many tasks at the same time. She wanted it all to turn out well, so she tried to handle everything alone. The more she did, the more tired and frustrated she felt. In the middle of it all, she started getting irritated because she felt no one was helping the way she expected. Her heart was full of worries and her mind was overloaded.
Then Jesus spoke to her very gently.
He did not scold her for serving, and He did not ignore what she was feeling. Instead, He showed her something important: Martha was carrying too much weight in her heart.
Sometimes we do the same thing. We fill our minds with worries, responsibilities and thoughts until we feel drained. We want to fix everything quickly and by ourselves. But God does not want you to carry it all without rest. He wants to help you, to bring peace to your heart and to remind you that you do not have to hold up the weight of the world on your shoulders. There are loads that were never meant to be carried alone. Resting in God is also a way of trusting.
