Saying “no” in some situations does not make you a bad person. God also wants to teach you to care for your heart, your time, and your decisions with wisdom. Healthy boundaries help protect your relationships, your emotions, and everything that matters in your life. Crowds followed Jesus all the time. There were needs, requests, and situations to attend to at every moment.

Even so, there were times when Jesus stepped away to rest, to pray, and to be alone with God. He did not say “yes” to everything all the time.

That teaches us something important: setting healthy boundaries does not mean you have stopped loving people.

Sometimes we think we have to accept every request so that no one gets upset with us, or so that we feel accepted. But when we never learn to say “no,” we can end up tired, confused, or carrying responsibilities that are not good for us.

God also wants to give us the wisdom to recognize what is good for us and when it is time to stop.

Saying “no” in some situations can also be a way of caring for your heart, your time, and the decisions you make.

Healthy boundaries do not make love smaller. Quite the opposite: they often help protect it and make it stronger.
